Valentine’s Day is just a short time away, so have you decided how you will be celebrating your love? You could go out for a meal, book a holiday, or why not spend a more affordable night at home – it can be just as special. Here are a few ideas for inspiration on how you can make your Valentine’s evening in the best you’ve had yet:

A Candlelit Poolside Dinner

They say it’s the effort that counts, so spend some time in the kitchen this February 14th and cook the love of your life a delicious 3 course menu for you to share. Lay out a table and two chairs by the pool and surround the water with fairy lights or candles for added atmosphere (and much needed light). If you want to push the boat out you could buy a load of flower heads and cover the surface of the water. Place a table cloth and a single rose on the table and the setting is complete. You have a serene and tranquil spot where you can sit privately and enjoy the pleasure of each other’s company.

Firelight Cuddle

Another romantic way to keep warm this Valentine’s Day is to snuggle up under a blanket on your poolside padded chairs or loungers and light a chiminea. Sit back and feel the warmth of the roaring wood burning fire, and the glow of the light it gives off. Enjoy a large glass of wine or maybe add a naughty tipple of liquor to a coffee. Treat yourself! It is Valentine’s Day after all.

Champagne in a Rose Filled Jacuzzi

If you think it may be a little nippy for this time of year, why not warm up in your hot tub instead? Add scented oils to the water and scatter rose petals for a romantic spa like experience for two. Here you can sit in the warm bubbling water and gaze up at the night sky together for a twilight evening to remember. And who says you can’t further indulge once you’re in the water? An ice bucket with a sparkling bottle of champagne makes the perfect side, and chocolate covered strawberries are always enjoyable, even if they are a little messy. And you just have to interlock your arms while drinking from your flutes – that’s a classic move isn’t it?

Poolside Pampering

A poolside gazebo or cabana makes the perfect setting for a loving pampering session. Arrange for a masseuse to come in and give you a couple’s massage, or get hands on and offer to give each other one instead. It is so relaxing and a great way to distress after a long week in work. Scrub up with a body buff exfoliation treatment or get tied up together with a full body wrap. Then finish the night off in your relaxing hot tub. Whatever you get up to this Valentine’s Day we’re sure you’ll have a great time if you spend it with the person you love. But you won’t be impressing anyone with these ideas if you have a grubby pool, so make sure to stock up on pool chemicals for sparkling water this February.
